Help with the dashboard

Everything you need for app.anewera.ai: from setup and reading the figures to the subscription, your team and connecting Claude or ChatGPT.

Getting started

Create your account

You create your account on app.anewera.ai with your email address, with a password or with a sign-in link we send you. The confirmation link in that email makes the account ready. Every new account comes with an organisation: you are its owner and can invite your team later.

Setup in five steps

After your first sign-in the setup takes you through five steps. Each step saves a draft, so you can stop at any time and carry on later.

  1. Website: you enter your domain and click “Read the website”. We read your home page and your imprint and suggest your name, other spellings, town, line of business and main offer. You check and correct them.
  2. Questions: you get about 30 suggestions for questions your customers ask an AI engine. You tick, edit or write your own, one per line. A counter shows how many your plan allows.
  3. Competitors: you choose who to compare yourself with, or add lines such as “Muster AG, muster.ch”.
  4. Country and languages: you choose the country to measure in and the languages of your questions. Questions in other languages are not asked.
  5. Start: “Start the trial” begins the measurement.

The trial

The trial lasts 7 days, is free and needs no card. On the first day every question goes once to ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overview and Claude; you see the first answers after about 15 minutes under “Your first results”. From the second day only ChatGPT measures, once a day. The other three engines stay locked until you subscribe.

There is one trial per person and per company. After the seventh day we collect no more answers. Your data stays readable for 30 days; after that the dashboard only shows the way to a subscription, until you take one. The owner gets a short email at the start, on day five and on day seven.

Reading the dashboard

The overview first shows how often the AI engines recommend you, name you or cite your website, for each engine. Below come the trend day by day, you against your competitors, how each engine names you, and up to three next steps. Unless you choose otherwise, every page shows the last 14 days; at the top you choose 7, 14 or 28 days, your own period, single engines, topics and languages.

  • Beside every figure stands its margin of error (±): the range that holds the true share with 95% confidence. What that means is in the glossary.
  • An arrow (▲ ▼) appears only when the change against the days before is bigger than the noise of the measurement.
  • A hollow point means fewer than 20 answers, a small sample.
  • A day without answers stays a gap. We fill in nothing and smooth nothing.

What each page shows

The pages sit on the left in three groups: the main ones at the top, then “Analysis” and “Operations”. From any figure one click leads to the question, and from there to the single answers.

PageWhat it shows
OverviewHow AI sees you: recommended, named and cited, per engine with the margin of error, the trend, your competitors, the stance and the next steps.
ActionsConcrete steps from your data: what you can change yourself at once, whom to contact, which partners to ask for a mention, which content is missing, and for steps you have done, whether they worked. A language model writes email drafts; nothing is sent.
PerceptionOnce a week we ask each engine “What is [your company]?” and “What speaks against [your company]?”. The page checks the claims against your facts and shows objections and attributes.
TrendVisibility, share of voice and other figures day by day, marked where an engine changed its model or questions were changed.
PromptsA grid of all questions by engine. One click opens a question’s page with its answers, sources and the AI’s searches.
CompetitorsThe share of voice of every tracked brand, day by day and over the whole period.
SourcesWhich websites the answers cite and read, sorted by kind, and the passages of your pages used in citations.
SearchesWhat the AI engines searched the web for before answering. Good ideas for new questions and content.
AnswersEvery single answer in full, searchable. An answer shows where it comes from (engine, model, country, time) and can be downloaded raw.
LocationWhen the location test is on: the same questions asked from other countries, against your country.
RunsEvery measurement with its progress, answers, errors and what was left out, and why.
SettingsProject and plan, questions and brands. This is where you change questions, competitors and spellings.
TeamWho belongs to the organisation, with which role, and open invitations.
ConnectionsConnecting Claude, ChatGPT and other tools to your data, connected applications and personal API keys.
SubscriptionYour plan, its price, usage, invoices and the way to your card and to cancelling.

Your account (email address, password, deleting the account) is behind the “Account, password and API keys” link at the bottom of the sidebar. That is also where you choose the language and the theme.

Changing a question: you change its topic and tags directly. A new wording, another language or another country makes a new question; the old one is archived and keeps its answers, so a trend never mixes two different questions. Questions can also be downloaded and uploaded as a CSV file, and several pages offer their table as CSV.

How answers are collected

On every measuring day we ask each active question once on each AI engine in your plan, as your customers would ask it: in your project’s country and in the question’s language. We collect the answers this way:

AI engineHow we ask
ChatGPTThe ChatGPT app through our data provider DataForSEO, with Bright Data as the reserve.
GeminiThe Gemini app through DataForSEO.
Google AI OverviewGoogle Search through DataForSEO, with the AI’s answer above the results.
ClaudeAnthropic’s interface with web search, with the model Claude Haiku 5.5 and your project’s approximate location.
AI Mode, extraGoogle Search’s AI Mode through DataForSEO, with Bright Data as the reserve.
Perplexity, extraThe Perplexity app through Bright Data, with Perplexity’s official interface (Sonar) through DataForSEO as the reserve, shown apart in the dashboard as “Perplexity (API)”.

Measuring starts at a fixed hour in the morning in your project’s time zone. It is set when the trial starts, to the quietest hour between 6 and 9, and shows under Settings. If you want another hour, write to us.

If a request still fails after retries, we store it as an error. It does not count towards visibility but shows in the failure rate; we leave nothing out. When your plan’s allowance is used up or the subscription has ended, anewera stops measuring, and the run records what was left out.

Why answers differ from day to day

  • AI engines write every answer afresh. Even the same question on the same day brings different texts, and not always the same companies.
  • Many engines search the web before they answer. What they find changes with the web and with their own search terms.
  • Providers change their models, often without notice. Where we see a change, the trend marks it.
  • Google does not show an AI Overview for every search. When it is missing, that counts towards the panel shown rate, not towards visibility.
  • Sometimes an engine or a data provider does not answer. We count these errors openly.

So a single answer on one day is a snapshot and never a result. We ask many questions on many days and show every figure with its margin of error. How much 14 answers to one question tell you is in the glossary.

Subscription, invoices and cancelling

The plan costs CHF 290 a month: up to 50 questions on ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overview and Claude, one country, one answer per question and engine a day. Connecting Claude, ChatGPT and other tools and the API are included. More questions, more engines (AI Mode, Perplexity) and more countries cost the measured cost times two. Paying yearly gives 5% off. All prices exclude VAT; Stripe adds it at payment, 8.1% in Switzerland.

  1. Under Subscription you put your plan together; the price beside it follows every change.
  2. “Choose this package” takes you to Stripe to pay by card. You enter your billing address there and, if you have one, your VAT number.
  3. After payment anewera measures on every engine of your plan from the next measurement.

Only owners and admins see and change the subscription. A change of plan applies at once, and Stripe charges the difference pro rata. A plan smaller than what you use is possible only once you have archived questions or countries.

Cancelling: under Subscription, “Invoices, card and cancelling” leads to Stripe’s customer portal. There you cancel at any time, to the end of the paid period; until then anewera keeps measuring. After that your data stays readable, and with a new subscription anewera measures again. You also find every invoice there and change your card.

If a payment cannot be collected, owners and admins get an email. After 7 days without payment the measurement pauses and the data stays. As soon as the invoice is paid, anewera measures again.

Deleting your data for good: the owner deletes the organisation under Team, after typing its name. That deletes projects, questions, answers and the raw data in the file store. While a subscription still bills, this is not possible; cancel first.

Team and roles

Under Team, owners and admins invite people by email. The link in the invitation is valid for 14 days. Someone without an account chooses a password when accepting. Every person has a role:

RoleWhat it may do
OwnerEverything an admin may do. On top, hand the organisation over to another person in the team (whoever hands it over becomes admin) and delete the organisation. Every organisation has exactly one owner.
AdminManage the team (invite, change roles, remove), rename the organisation, change the project’s name, countries and languages, manage the subscription, create email drafts under Actions. On top, everything a member may do.
MemberEdit questions, competitors and the kinds of sources, mark actions as done, keep facts up to date, create API keys and connect tools with write access.
View onlyRead every page and connect tools to read only. No API keys.

Nobody gives the owner role by invitation; it only changes by handover. Everyone but the owner can leave the team themselves. An account can only be deleted once its person owns no organisation.

Connecting Claude, ChatGPT and other tools

You can use your data directly in Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools, for example by asking “What changed in our visibility this week?”. For this, anewera is an MCP server, at the address https://app.anewera.ai/mcp. The full guide for every tool is at anewera.ch/en/mcp.

  1. Open Connections in the dashboard and choose your tool. The page shows the steps and the address.
  2. In claude.ai and Claude Desktop: “Settings”, “Connectors”, “Add custom connector”, name anewera, the address above. In ChatGPT: “Settings”, “Apps & Connectors”, switch on developer mode under “Advanced settings”, “Create”, the address above, authentication OAuth.
  3. You sign in to anewera, choose the organisation and the access, and allow the connection.

Access: “Read only” or “Read and set actions”. Writing only means marking an action as done or dismissed, and needs the role owner, admin or member. Connected applications are listed under Connections; “Disconnect” ends a connection at once and for good.

For Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, VS Code and your own scripts there are personal API keys besides signing in. A key starts with anw_, is shown only once and reads only unless you choose otherwise. You can have up to ten active keys and revoke any of them at any time; tools read the key from the environment variable ANEWERA_API_KEY. A key stops working as soon as its person leaves the organisation.

The same data is available through the REST API at https://app.anewera.ai/api/v1, read only, described in https://app.anewera.ai/api/v1/openapi.json. The plan allows 120 requests a minute per key or connection.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I see a different answer today than yesterday?

Because AI engines write every answer afresh, search the web live and change their models. A single answer is a snapshot. What tells you something are the shares over many questions and days, with their margin of error.

Why does only ChatGPT measure from the second day of the trial?

The trial measures all four engines on the first day and ChatGPT after that, once a day. anewera measures Gemini, Google AI Overview and Claude again as soon as you subscribe.

Where is my data?

The database is at Supabase in the Zurich region; the application runs at Vercel in Frankfurt. Which providers receive which data is in the list of subprocessors.

What happens to my data after I cancel?

It stays stored and readable; anewera just collects no new answers. The owner can delete it at any time by deleting the organisation, once no subscription bills any more.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Several pages offer their table as CSV, the questions can be downloaded as CSV, and through the REST API and the connection with Claude or ChatGPT you read answers, questions and figures directly.

How do I reach anewera?
