What does GEO (AI visibility) cost in Switzerland? Prices and cost drivers

In short

Prices publicly listed by Swiss providers are CHF 390 to 950 for a one-off audit, from CHF 60 per topic and month for monitoring, and CHF 1,500 to 2,900 a month as the entry price for ongoing support (as of October 2026). Most providers publish no price, and the ranges are only partly comparable, because the scope varies widely.

What does GEO cost in Switzerland?

Going by publicly listed prices, a one-off audit costs CHF 390 to 950, and the entry price for ongoing support is CHF 1,500 to 2,900 a month. To get these figures, we reviewed twelve public price pages from eleven Swiss providers on 6 October 2026. Offers from our own group, Loaded AG, are not included.

Most providers publish no price at all. Of 19 Swiss GEO service pages we checked the same day, 6 showed a figure in francs. We deliberately name no providers here: the ranges summarise the market and do not rate any single provider.

Disclosure: anewera belongs to Loaded AG and sells measurement and optimisation itself. We are part of this market. That is why our own offers are not counted in the ranges, and how we price is set out separately at the end.

Typical price ranges in Switzerland

Prices publicly listed by Swiss providers, as of October 2026 (retrieved on 6 October 2026). Amounts as published; not every page says whether VAT is included.

Offer Publicly listed prices Providers with a price What it usually includes
Quick AI check free many automated check of the website, sometimes without testing AI answers
One-off audit CHF 390 to 950 4 baseline, check of the website and sometimes the AI answers, recommendations
Deeper analysis from CHF 3,240 to 10,000 2 detailed analysis, sometimes with a strategy
First implementation, one-off from CHF 1,500 to 1,900 2 first changes to pages and content, sometimes with an audit
Monitoring from CHF 60 per topic and month as a service, CHF 89 to 179 a month as software 2 recurring queries, report or dashboard
Content subscription CHF 349 a month 1 ongoing content optimisation with a monthly report, 24-month term
Ongoing support from CHF 1,500 to 2,900 a month (entry) 3 measurement, content, work on sources, reporting
SEO and GEO package CHF 2,500 to 7,500 a month, plus CHF 3,500 one-off 1 SEO and GEO together, fixed term of 6 to 18 months
Course CHF 290 per person 1 training, online, 2 hours

The rows are not like for like. A CHF 390 audit mainly checks the website; a CHF 10,000 analysis includes a strategy. ‘From’ prices are entry prices; what a specific project costs depends on its scope.

What drives the cost

The price follows the scope: how much is measured, and how much work on content and sources is needed.

Cost driver Why it matters The question behind it
Number of questions Each customer question is asked and analysed separately 25 questions or 200?
Engines Each AI service answers differently and costs separately Only Google, or also ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude?
Repeats More answers per question and day give narrower margins of error One answer a day, or several?
Languages and locations German, French, Italian and each location are separate measurements Only Zurich, or also Geneva and Lugano?
Duration A baseline takes a few days; an effect only shows in a comparison over weeks One-off or ongoing?
Content Pages that answer the AI’s sub-questions need expertise and writing time How many pages are missing?
Sources Listings in directories, associations and trade media need research and upkeep Where does the AI read about your industry?
Technology Access for AI crawlers, structured data, fast pages Does your web agency handle this?
Reporting and advice Analysing, explaining, planning next steps Monthly or quarterly?

What does the measurement itself cost?

Very little per answer. In our own runs in October 2026, an answer from the ChatGPT or Gemini app cost us about USD 0.004 at our data provider, and a Google AI Overview USD 0.002 to 0.004. An answer from Claude with web search through the API cost USD 0.05 to 0.06. Classifying whether an answer recommends a company came to about USD 0.003 per answer.

A worked example, not a quote: 50 questions on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, three answers a day each, for 30 days, give 13,500 answers and about USD 54 in data costs a month. Adding Claude with two answers per question and day brings another 3,000 answers and USD 150 to 180.

If you divide the list prices of internationally sold monitoring software by the number of answers, you get roughly 1 to 2 US cents per answer, depending on the plan (our own calculation, as of 6 October 2026). Most of a GEO budget is therefore work, not computing: analysing, writing content, looking after sources, reporting.

For Google Search there is also a free source. Since 31 August 2026, the generative AI performance report in Search Console has shown every website how often links to it appeared in AI Overviews and AI Mode. It does not show what the answers say about your company. More on this in Google AI Mode in Switzerland.

Why repeated measurement is worth the money

Because a single answer is chance. The same question does not always get the same answer, so you measure a share across many answers and state a margin of error. A worked example, not a measurement (95% margin of error using the Wilson method, as described in the NIST handbook of statistical methods):

Answers that name you Share 95% margin of error
3 of 10 30% 11 to 60%
30 of 100 30% 22 to 40%
90 of 300 30% 25 to 35%

After 10 answers, almost anything between rare and frequent is possible. Only with hundreds of answers can a change be told apart from chance: it counts when it is larger than the margin of error. Fetching one answer per question once a month costs little, but it cannot show whether the work is having an effect. How we calculate ranges across many questions is explained on the method page.

What to ask a provider

These questions make offers comparable, even when no price is published:

  1. How many questions do you measure, on which engines, in which languages and from which location?
  2. How many answers per question and day, and over how many days?
  3. Does every figure come with a margin of error and the number of answers?
  4. What happens to failed answers: are they reported or quietly left out?
  5. Do you distinguish whether an answer recommends us, only lists us or uses us as a source?
  6. Which work is included in the price: technology, content, sources, reporting? What costs extra?
  7. Do we get the raw data, and where is it stored?
  8. How long does the contract run, and how do we cancel?
  9. How do you show that a change is larger than chance?

Be careful when someone promises ‘internal’ Google data. In its guide of 10 July 2026, Google says no third-party tool has access to its ranking or AI systems. And according to the same guide, Google Search needs no llms.txt file or special markup.

How does anewera price?

anewera prices by scope, in two parts. We charge for measurement per request: one question, one model, one location, one point in time. Our costs at our data providers are shown openly on our pricing page. The work on your visibility, meaning technology, content, sources and a profile for AI agents, is agreed together after the analysis.

All prices are in Swiss francs, excluding VAT, with a flexible term. We show how we measure openly on our own brand in the live case study ‘Grow in Public’. Where you stand today is what the AI visibility audit establishes; what a GEO agency takes on beyond that is described under GEO agency Switzerland. You receive an offer for your company after a short initial conversation.

Frequently asked questions

What does a GEO audit cost in Switzerland?

Publicly listed prices for a one-off audit are CHF 390 to 950 (four providers, as of 6 October 2026). A deeper analysis, sometimes with a strategy, costs from CHF 3,240 to 10,000 at two providers. Ask whether the audit only checks the website or also measures what AI services answer over several days. The offers differ a lot on this point.

Is GEO worth it for Swiss SMEs?

That depends on whether your customers ask AI assistants for providers like you. First check, with a few typical customer questions, whether and how you are named today. Only a measurement over several days shows whether there is a gap, and later whether the work on it has an effect. Without measurement you pay for work whose effect you cannot see.

Why do so many GEO providers publish no price?

Because the scope varies widely: the number of questions, engines and languages, and the work on content and sources, decide the effort. Of 19 Swiss GEO service pages we checked on 6 October 2026, 6 showed a figure in francs. Where there is no price, ask about the scope behind the offer.

What does a single AI answer cost to measure?

Very little. In our own runs in October 2026, an answer from the ChatGPT or Gemini app cost us about USD 0.004 at our data provider, and an answer from Claude with web search through the API USD 0.05 to 0.06. The cost comes from volume: many questions, several engines and repeats add up to thousands of answers a month.

Is a free AI visibility check enough?

For a first impression, yes. Some free checks only examine the website and do not test what AI services actually answer. Because answers vary from run to run, a single query only shows what is possible, not how often it happens. Decisions need a measurement over several days.

Do I need to pay for an llms.txt file or special markup for Google?

No. In its guide of July 2026, Google says that Google Search, including its AI features, needs no AI text files such as llms.txt and no special schema.org markup. There is no reason to budget for them as a Google measure. This does not automatically apply to other AI services.
